Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy

At Manners on Point School of Etiquette, the safety, dignity and wellbeing of every child entrusted to our care are of the utmost importance.

We are committed to providing a safe, respectful and nurturing learning environment where children and young people can develop confidence, character, communication skills and good manners without fear of harm, discrimination or abuse.

Our safeguarding practices are guided by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, including the Children’s Act, 1998 (Act 560), as amended, together with recognised safeguarding principles and good practice.

1. Our Commitment

Manners on Point School of Etiquette is committed to:

* placing the welfare and best interests of every child at the centre of our programmes;
* promoting a culture of respect, dignity and inclusion;
* providing a safe learning environment for all participants;
* maintaining appropriate professional boundaries between adults and children;
* responding promptly and appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

Safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone involved in our programmes.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all programmes involving participants under the age of 18 years, including:

* etiquette classes;
* private coaching;
* workshops and masterclasses;
* school programmes;
* camps and retreats;
* virtual learning sessions;
* special events organised by Manners on Point School of Etiquette.

3. Expectations of Our Team

All trainers, facilitators, assistants and volunteers are expected to:

* treat every child with dignity, patience and respect;
* model appropriate behaviour at all times;
* maintain professional boundaries;
* avoid any form of bullying, intimidation, humiliation or discrimination;
* report any safeguarding concern promptly through the appropriate internal procedures.

4. Expectations of Parents and Guardians

Parents and guardians are expected to:

* provide accurate registration and emergency contact information;
* disclose relevant medical, allergy or wellbeing information;
* support their child’s adherence to programme expectations;
* notify Manners on Point promptly of any concerns affecting their child’s participation.

5. Photography and Media

Photographs or videos may be taken during selected programmes for educational, promotional or archival purposes.

Images of participants under 18 years of age will only be used for promotional purposes where prior parental or guardian consent has been obtained.

6. Reporting Concerns

Any concern relating to the safety or wellbeing of a child should be reported to Manners on Point School of Etiquette without delay.

All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and handled sensitively, confidentially and in accordance with applicable laws and our internal safeguarding procedures.

Where required by law, appropriate authorities will be notified.

7. Continuous Review

We regularly review our safeguarding practices to ensure they remain effective, appropriate and consistent with legal requirements and recognised good practice.
